A Christmas bedroom does not need a full makeover. In Jennie's bedroom, two lit wreaths, one long garland and green velvet bedding do most of the work, set against a white upholstered bed, a wood bench and a warm patterned rug that need no holiday changes at all.
This walkthrough follows the room from the wall down to the floor, with the pieces Jennie linked for each part. It is the same room featured in our homepage Shop the Look.
Start above the headboard
The wall above the bed is the first thing you see when you walk into a bedroom, so it is the best place to put holiday effort. In Jennie's room, two woven art pieces hang side by side above the headboard. For the holidays, a lit wreath hangs over each one, and a long, loose garland runs along the top of the upholstered headboard.
The pairing works because the wreaths and garland are both green and both natural-looking, so they read as one idea rather than two decorations. The woven art behind them shows through the center of each wreath, which adds texture and keeps the wall from feeling covered up.

A few practical notes
Hang wreaths centered on what is behind them, and at the same height, so the pair looks deliberate. Let a garland drape rather than pulling it tight; a looser line looks more natural. Before you hang anything with lights, plan where the cords will run and where they will plug in.
Let the bedding carry the color
Instead of adding red or metallic decorations, Jennie brought the holiday color into the bed itself. A green velvet channel quilt covers the bed, with a soft neutral layer folded back over it and a chunky olive knit throw draped across the bed. Large cream Euro shams sit against the headboard, with green velvet shams in front.
Because the bedding is green, the wreaths and garland above it look like part of the same scheme. And because it is a bedding color rather than a holiday print, it can stay out well past December.

Keep the furniture neutral
The furniture in this room is the reason the holiday pieces stand out. The bed is upholstered in a light, neutral fabric, the bench at its foot is plain wood, and the chandelier is a slim black frame. None of them compete with the green.
Jennie's caption notes that the bed, bench and chandelier are all from Wayfair. If you are choosing furniture for a bedroom you plan to decorate for the seasons, neutral and simple is the most flexible choice: Jennie has also shown this same bed with chocolate brown and pine green bedding.

Finish with warm light
The last layer is light. The wreaths have their own small lights, and a lit tree stands in the corner of the room. Together, they give the bedroom a warm glow in the evening without relying on the overhead fixture.
If you do not have room for a full tree in a bedroom, the lit wreaths alone add plenty of evening glow. Keep any lamps on warm bulbs so everything reads as the same soft light.
Frequently asked questions
How do you decorate a bedroom for Christmas without clutter?
Focus on one area, usually the wall above the bed, and bring color in through the bedding. In Jennie's room, two wreaths, one garland and green bedding are the main changes.
Can I hang a wreath over art?
Jennie hung her wreaths over woven art, so the texture shows through the center. Center the wreath on the piece and hang it securely.
What bedding color works best for a Christmas bedroom?
Deep green is an easy choice because it matches greenery and stays seasonal through winter. Cream pillows and shams keep it from feeling too dark.
